Over 100 Years Harries Mühle

1885

Birth of Founder Bernhard Harries in Thedingenhausen. He starts a miller apprenticeship at Windmill Vierbrock in 1899 in Uphusen near Achim. Years of journeyman at Miller Unger among others.

1912

The Harries Mühle is founded. Bernhard Harries takes over the Wind- and Steammill in Sannum near Huntlosen in Oldenburg. A site for a new mill is purchased in Moordeich during the same year.

1923

Purchase of a site at the Station Moordeich on which a burned out ruin of windmill from 1917.

1945

The construction of an Oats Mill is completed at Moordeich Station.

1958

The founder Bernhard Harries dies and his son Heinrich Harries takes over the business. The same year: Silo construction and renovation of the residence, which would hold the office until 1984.

1960

Reconstruction and expansion of the Oats Mill

1963/64

Addition of a new silo to hold the intermediate products and use of modern packing machinery. Through extensive investment, the mill develops into a modern Nutrition-, Hull- , and Specialty Mill.

1984

Move into the new business complex. The brothers Bernd and Heinz-Dieter Harries take over in the 3rd generation.

80s - 90s

Construction of a new warehouse, an office with social environment, a boiler house and a workshop.

2002

Death of Heinrich Harries

2004 - 2005

Implementation of a new packaging robot to make the packing of finished goods more efficient.

2007

Florian Harries takes over the business in the 4th generation.

1. April 2012

The Harries Mühle celebrates its 100th anniversary – together with its employees. This success would have not been possible without them. Thank you to everybody!

2015

Foundation of the Harries Schälmühlenwerk GmbH & Co.KG and start of the mill construction in Groß Ippener.

2017

Startrup of operations of the Harries Schälmühlenwerk GmbH & Co.KG in Groß Ippener.
